The main event of Victory Road is now official, and Austin Aries doesn’t seem too happy about it. He sent out a tweet after last week’s Impact, basically complaining about Sting booking himself in another main event. Now, I have actually enjoyed this program between Sting and Bobby Roode, and how it isn’t about the World Title. This should be a fun Grudge match that will somewhat settle this feud. I am always pushing for …

Jeff Hardy will team with James Storm to go up against Bobby Roode and Bully Ray in a Tables match that will headline tonight’s episode of Impact Wrestling. Hopefully, there is just a clean finish after the past two episodes have had lame endings. TNA has really been half and half. One half has been fun and entertaining, while the other half has been completely lame. Some of the lame aspects are Garett Bischoff feuding with Eric Bischoff and Crimson-Morgan as the Tag Champions. The positive aspects have been Aries as the X-Division Champion, EY’s comedy, and the Knockouts (Mickie James in particular). On the other hand, the World Title picture has been fun on occasion, but also frustrating. SPOILERS FOLLOW Bully Ray and Jeff Hardy are exchanging rights and …

James Storm is the new number one contender, so where does this leave Jeff Hardy? After last week’s odd finish to a solid match between Hardy and Roode, I wouldn’t be surprised if Jeff Hardy is still in the World Title picture. It would be nice if, for once, TNA could have a World Title Match end with a clean victory. No help from an outsider or any cheating of any form, just a clean victory by PINFALL or submission. I had been digging what TNA was doing for a few months, but since the end of Genesis there hasn’t been much to hype. SPOILERS FOLLOW The usual video package of last week’s action opens up the show. Then, “Cowboy” James Storm walks down that aisle to get on the mic. …

TNA Impact Wrestling 1/12 Review

TNA continues the odd trend where the main event of a pay-per-view will go unsettled, then having the rematch on the following Impact. They did this after Final Resolution with Roode and Styles, now tonight we get Hardy versus Roode round two. Why can you (TNA) not decide the contest on a PPV? Maybe, just maybe, the buys would be higher if TNA had a reputation of going all out at their pay-per-view shows. If it wasn’t for that lame finish, Genesis would’ve been a solid show overall. TNA has changed a lot of things, but bad finishes remand a constant. SPOILERS FOLLOW Roode has a very early 90’s sounding song, but I can dig it. It reminds me of something that would be played during one of my favorite movies, … Read entire article »

Genesis is the origin or mode of formation of something. At Turning Point, TNA seemed to have a shift in methods. The shift has continued to move forward with, of course, a few bumps along the way (Garett Bischoff), but mostly TNA has been an enjoyable and fun wrestling promotion. TNA has been going on for almost a decade now, and Turning Point wasn’t the origin or genesis, but it was the start of something new. Genesis might be a fitting title because it is the first PPV of the year, but on the other hand it isn’t because it could be where TNA really cements this change for the better. Now, I look forward to what this last episode of Impact has to offer before we head into …

TNA Impact Wrestling 12/22 Review

The Wildcard Tag Team Tournament continues tonight. AJ and Kaz teaming together isn’t very random, but Daniels teaming with RVD is. Last week’s show didn’t have any stand-out matches, but the storylines stayed consistent. So with that being said, I’m really excited to see what the next move is in the Hardy/Roode feud. That Powerbomb Hardy took last week was pretty gnarly, as he over shot the table by a little bit. This is such an amazing week in Professional wrestling, with TLC being solid and Final Battle tomorrow, so to say that TNA hasn’t completely fallen on the back burner speaks volumes as to how much TNA has improved. SPOILERS FOLLOW The two best heels in TNA (Bully Ray and Bobby Roode) open up the show. Both are excellent … Read entire article »

Ring of Honor TV 11/5 Review

Tonight, the challenger for Davey Richards’ World Championship will be revealed. Also, we find out if Cedric Alexander and Caprice Coleman can hang with Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team. We are slowly approaching Final Battle, and Ring of Honor looks to be building towards quite a show. There are also advancements in the Kevin Steen v Ring of Honor storyline. Another exciting show from ROH, so let’s get to it. This is the review for Ring of Honor TV 11/5. SPOILERS FOLLOW Jim Cornette has come to the conclusion that Eddie Edwards will be the man to face Davey Richards at Final Battle for the ROH World Championship. This is music to my ears because, as we all know, Eddie and Davey can put on an amazing match. Eddie Edwards has a new … Read entire article »

Ring of Honor TV 10/29 Review

We get three matches this week, which is a change from every other show so far that ROH has had. They have had two matches on all the other shows, and I was really growing tired of this same format every week. In the main event tonight, The Briscoe Brothers face The All Night Express, but the opening bout really stole the show. SPOILERS FOLLOW Nigel and Kevin Kelly open up the show discussing the main event. The Briscoe Brothers will face The All Night Express to settle the issue of who is number one contender to the ROH Tag Team Championship. The winner will face Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team at the Final Battle iPPV. Before Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong wrestle, they both get a little bit of mic time. Roderick … Read entire article »

This was not one of ROH’s strongest shows to date, but it was still an entertaining episode. There was too much talking for my liking. Anyways, we get to see the debut of T.J. Perkins and more importantly, we settle the number one contender controversy. In the main event, Jay Lethal puts his TV Championship up for grabs against “The Prodigy” Mike Bennett. This is the first show where ROH is starting to plug the Final Battle iPPV. Man, I cannot wait for that one! SPOILERS FOLLOW T.J. Perkins is excited about making his ROH debut. In this backstage promo, he talks about how he has been wrestling since he was 14. T.J. is going up against “The Giant Killer” Mike Mondo tonight, but T.J. isn’t a giant, so Mike is going …

Ring of Honor TV 10/8 & 10/15 Review

Ring of Honor does not have the most compelling way of doing a television show, but they have not disappointed in any of their main events. Davey Richards versus Roderick Strong is even better than last week’s match between Jay Lethal and El Generico. I am just already tired of the format that they are using. It seems that in between matches we are always going to have the “Inside ROH” and “Focus On” segments. I sure hope their show evolves into a different format at their next set of tapings. It’s cool how the they shine the ROH logo onto the black canvas to open the show. What is not cool is Jim Cornette being in the middle of that ring for the second straight week. Nothing against Cornette, … Read entire article »
