Bound For Glory was a bit lopsided. It felt like all the highest quality matches were at the start of the show. The main event seemed to be a footnote after the crowd blew their load cheering for Hogan. The matches were of a decent to high quality all evening, but there were certainly some bad bumps along the way. For the most part TNA lived up to their promises with this one, although I …

TNA Bound For Glory 2011 Predictions

TNA/Impact Wrestling have done a great job of building up their Bound For Glory PPV. It all started with the Bound For Glory Series, which was a bit messy, but had a great end result. The Sting/Hogan feud has been building up since the mid-90′s, and that will probably lead to a decent number of buys on name recognition alone. The Knockouts Division has been the lone female wrestling bright spot on television all year, … Read entire article »

TNA picked a horrible day to feature a PPV. Not only was it the anniversary of the saddest day in recent American History, but also the opening Sunday of the NFL season. PINFALL Magazine isn’t about missing major Pay-per-view shows, but TNA left me zero choice. Here are the results for anyone interested. Seems some semi-interesting things took place, but nothing that made me feel like I missed out. I’m mostly interested in seeing the …

It wasn’t a horrible night of wrestling, but Hardcore Justice isn’t exactly a PPV-worthy event either. The Impact Zone seemed to be doing what they could to act like they cared. I just didn’t see anything noteworthy all night. The highlight of the evening was the opener, and the Knockouts, the rest was passable. Thirty dollars is a steep price to pay for a show that doesn’t have one highlight for the entire evening. Title …

TNA should really consider doing a two month build-up to each PPV. I’ve never seen a PPV with this little anticipation surrounding it. It’s going to be one of those, “If a PPV falls in the woods, does anyone hear it?” kind of events. There’s not one marquee match that anyone is looking forward to, and the majority of the stuff has been done before. The only freshness on this entire card is A-Double Austin …

According to Matt Jackson/Max Buck, Generation Me have asked for their release from TNA, and it has been granted. Just last night during Destination X, I was wondering how TNA could constantly misuse such a great tag team, but now that’s over. The Bucks have worked Pro Wrestling Guerrilla shows to great effect this year, and I imagine they’ll find another permanent spot when/if they want one. Was Destination X too little, too late? Will …

Destination X lived up to the hype. TNA accomplished everything they set out to do, and I’m happy for them. I’m not sure where they’ll take the show from here, but it was well worth the watch. The most impressive thing about the Pay-Per-View was the crowd. From the opening match through the final bell, they were into the show in a big way. When the crowd cares, I care a lot more, and tonight …

This card is X-Division ONLY! I guess being crazy didn’t get Sting into the division. I’m fine with that, and truly think this will be TNA’s most successful PPV of the year in my eyes, and monetarily. There’s only one match I’m not looking forward to (X-Division Title bout, go figure), and there’s no match without at least one act worth watching. WWE’s Money in the Bank is going to be serious next week, but …

Impact Wrestling is strange. This is the week before a PPV, so I understand the rush, especially with only one weekly show (do they have Explosion anymore?). I appreciate that they didn’t put Eric Bischoff on television, but they still don’t seem to want to put any (semi-)youth over. Guys like Rob Van Dam, Kurt Angle, and the Dudley Boyz just keep feeding on those around them. I’m not one who brings up the man …

I don’t care what company or show it is, I enjoy the atmosphere of a PPV. Eventually that feeling wears off, and I’m forced to see a show for what it is, but I love that initial feeling. Tonight’s PPV was decent, but TNA/Impact couldn’t get out without some kind of nonsense. Eric Bischoff and his son completely mishandled the Main Event. I have no idea what the point of Bischoff attacking Sting is, other …
