When someone sees the title “Impact Wrestling” on their cable guide, and they turn to it for 3 straight segments of middle aged people talking in the ring to open the show, do they continue watching? If I had to guess, I’d go with no. To make things worse all the crowd reactions are seemingly fake, as few people in the crowd are even paying attention. The first hour was nearly all former WWE (and …

Bound For Glory was a bit lopsided. It felt like all the highest quality matches were at the start of the show. The main event seemed to be a footnote after the crowd blew their load cheering for Hogan. The matches were of a decent to high quality all evening, but there were certainly some bad bumps along the way. For the most part TNA lived up to their promises with this one, although I …

TNA Bound For Glory 2011 Predictions

TNA/Impact Wrestling have done a great job of building up their Bound For Glory PPV. It all started with the Bound For Glory Series, which was a bit messy, but had a great end result. The Sting/Hogan feud has been building up since the mid-90′s, and that will probably lead to a decent number of buys on name recognition alone. The Knockouts Division has been the lone female wrestling bright spot on television all year, … Read entire article »

TNA Impact Wrestling 10/13 Review

Impact Wrestling continues to improve weekly. The Bobby Roode push is full steam ahead and going swimmingly. They managed to sneak in a surprise run-in, which is nearly impossible to do these days. The only problem is that they’re still pushing Sting/Hogan as a main event. While some people, including myself until this week, want to see this match, it’s not nearly as emotionally involving as the Roode/Angle scenario. There were no signs of Eric … Read entire article »

TNA Impact Wrestling 10/6 Review

Impact was the best wrestling show on television this week. You don’t hear that too often, but they’re on a roll with their World Championship angle. The Hogan/Sting stuff isn’t nearly as interesting, but even that has more basis in wrestling than what’s going on with The E currently. TNA also managed to leave Mexican America on the cutting room floor or at home, I can’t tell which. I realize that Mike Tenay and Taz … Read entire article »

One of the more enjoyable Impact Wrestling episodes this year. It wasn’t far off from their usual show, but they tried enough fresh ideas to keep it entertaining. The main event was an easy TV Match of the Week candidate. Even the worst segments seemed to make sense this week, which is a big compliment to an Impact Wrestling show. Robert Roode’s Bound for Glory storyline has been exceptional. TNA isn’t known for their patience, …

I feel like Impact was a rip-off this week. They promoted Bobby Roode versus Christopher Daniels, and did NOT deliver. Is that a common occurrence when it comes to this company? I guess that’s up to you, but this week surely falls in that category. They even booked a main event mid-show, and that didn’t even come to an end. Worst of all is that there was no Eric Young on the show. No EY …

Impact was enjoyable this week. They didn’t try to cram a ton of different angles into each segment, and actually focused on a few throughout the episode. It just felt like a more concise way to tell a story, and I like what they came up with. Obviously I didn’t love every segment, but Impact Wrestling is a variety show, so no one is meant to love it all. I’m glad the Bound for Glory …

TNA picked a horrible day to feature a PPV. Not only was it the anniversary of the saddest day in recent American History, but also the opening Sunday of the NFL season. PINFALL Magazine isn’t about missing major Pay-per-view shows, but TNA left me zero choice. Here are the results for anyone interested. Seems some semi-interesting things took place, but nothing that made me feel like I missed out. I’m mostly interested in seeing the …

Impact is coming from Alabama this week. It was a solid show for the second straight week. At this point they should never go back to the Impact Zone. This week features the “return” of Jeff Hardy, but all he does is main event by talking. There’s no match, and it’s not really a promo, it’s just kind of there (and awkward). The rest of the show featured the usual NWO run-ins, and Bischoff-centric nonsense, …
